Our In-House Production Company
As part of our remit as a creative school for the cultural industry, our wish is that every student takes part in some additional aspect of school life during their time at Elstree Screen Arts Academy. This involvement in the creation of products for real world clients also helps to develop students cultural capital, these roles could, for example, be supporting the ESA Productions team or taking on student leadership roles within our productions.
At ESA, our Enterprise, Projects, Productions and Partnerships team specialise in independent/corporate film production, podcast creation and design work. The department is designed to deliver outstanding results following the development of a brief (in collaboration with clients) and to ensure strong foundations in learning and mentoring the next generation of creative industry professionals.
ESA Productions help develop our students’ skills whilst working with industry clients such as Sky Studios Elstree, MOBO Unsung, Apples & Snakes and The Careers and Enterprise Company & HOPinto. The Projects and Partnerships department is run as a professional production company within ESA providing work experience with external clients to develop industry-ready skills for all our students.
Projects and Partnerships create opportunities for students to work professionally and to learn the technical and creative skills required to enter the industry with credibility. It also allows students to build showreel and portfolio content that they can use to support them with their next steps.

Somi Briggs
Director of ESA Productions and Communications Content Producer
Somi completed a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Media Design and Technology and an MSc. in Digital Design and Branding from Brunel University. She went on to gain experience in the production industry at a multimedia broadcast company as well as undertaking freelance creative media projects. She is looking forward to leading the team and the students into the next phase of the ESA productions story as a fully-fledged productions company with exciting partnership opportunities ahead.
Adam Nicolaou
Lead Producer (Unscripted Content)
Adam is an alumni of ESA Academy, as a young and experienced creative he went on to start his own business offering creative and social media campaigns for clients around the UK. His main role within the department is to mentor and creatively lead students through the film production process, whether it’s through their own personal projects or video productions that ESA Productions has been commissioned to produce by an industry client. In addition to this, he is also involved in teaching Post-production skills such as editing, special effects and live editing, keying and VFX
