Safeguarding
at ESA
Ensuring Our Students Safety
Elstree Screen Arts Academy is committed to ensuring the welfare and safety of all our students in school. We believe that students have a right to learn in a supportive, caring and safe environment which includes the right to protection from all types of abuse; where staff are vigilant for signs of any student in distress and are confident about applying the processes to avert and alleviate any such problems.
ESA follows the Hertfordshire Local Safeguarding Children Board procedures.
Safeguarding is about ensuring that everyone is safe from harm - safe from bullying, safe from people who could abuse, safe from discrimination or harassment - and that we all feel safe in our environment.
If your child is ever concerned about safety or well-being or about a friend, they should talk to a parent or a member of staff at school such as the form tutor or teacher.
Talking helps, and if these people agree there is a problem, they will find other people to help - the Designated Leader for Child Protection is Nikki Ward [Assistant Principal]. Staff will work together to address the problems and ensure everyone is safe.
